Doom: The Dark Ages Launches May 15

The iconic franchise returns with Doom: The Dark Ages, a prequel set in a techno-medieval world. Players will experience heavier, more grounded combat, new weapons like the Shield Saw, and even pilot a 30-story mech. While combat is praised, some reviews note pacing issues in non-combat segments. The game releases on May 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. 

Virtua Fighter Announcement Incoming

Sega is set to host a Virtua Fighter Direct presentation today, May 11, during Evo Japan. Fans anticipate news on Virtua Fighter 6 or updates to Virtua Fighter 5. The event will be streamed on Sega’s official Virtua Fighter YouTube channels.

Europa Universalis V Announced

Paradox Interactive has officially announced Europa Universalis V, the sequel to the 2013 grand strategy game. Set to begin in 1337, players can guide a country through world history. The game has been in development since 2020 and was officially revealed on May 8.

Genshin Impact Implements Gacha Disclaimers

Following an FTC ruling, HoYoverse has updated Genshin Impact to include clearer disclaimers about its gacha mechanics. Players are now informed that acquiring a 5-star event-exclusive character can cost between $1.98 and $475.20. The update also includes a Fate calculator and requires U.S. players to verify their age before July 18, 2025. 

Windows 11 Pro Available for $14.97

Microsoft’s Windows 11 Pro, known for its gamer-friendly features like DirectX 12 Ultimate, is currently on sale for $14.97, down from $199. The OS also includes productivity tools and Microsoft's AI assistant, Copilot.

Several popular games are scheduled to have their online servers shut down in 2025, affecting titles across PlayStation, Xbox, Windows, and Nintendo Switch.
